First Tip for 2016
Oxidizing your silver
OR
Making it turn black on purpose.

I am developing a new line involving leather, bones and shells. Hoping to appeal to the guys but I think everyone will enjoy the new designs. Here is what I tried.
1. Hard boil and egg. Uhhh......don't forget the egg like I did. I drifted off and found a dry pot with a very cooked egg!
2. Put the whole thing in a ziploc and smash it up. This releases the sulphur. It is fine to use the egg hot. The heat might speed up the process.
3. Add your items.
4. Check in 15 minutes. I had a bronze/copper patina.
5. Check every 15 minutes until you get the desired effect.

So excited. This is safer than Liver of Sulphur and so quick!

Here is a new take on the seaglass ornaments.
A customer asked me make something that can be put on a desk and enjoyed all year.

Beach In A Bottle!
The cork is pressed in but not sealed just in case you want to add your own treasures.

Odonata Seaglass ornament and Beach in A Bottle paperweight

Measures about 41/2" tall X 3 1/4" wide
Base is filled with hard resin which stays in place while the sand, glass and shells can shake around creating an ever changing seascape.

I am delighted to announce that my work is now at a fabulous new artisan gift shop in Madison, CT
Vista Vocational and Life Skills Center new artisan gift shop
712 Boston Post Road, Madison CT
The store is filled with unique gift items from many local and not so local professional artisans. Each artist was chosen not only for their talent but for the special story they bring about their own lives and connections.

The organization provides services to adults with disabilties in the areas of life skills, social skills, job placement and independent living. My son Cody has been thriving since he entered the program in 2013.  He independently navigates the public transportation system, has an apartment with another young man, is employed in various job settings AND he has avibrant social life! I am so proud of Cody and so honored to be connected with this organization.
